We provide an open bar service for weddings and other private events.
You supply the spirits and we will do the rest!
Bittersweet Bar Service is responsible for:
the acquisition of any and all licenses, permits, and liquor liability insurance (we have $2 million in coverage!) required by the State of Maine,
all set-up and break-down of the service area(s),
providing at least 1 bartender for every 75 guests (2 bartender minimum unless guest count is 75 or below),
providing cocktail napkins, plastic cups & ice,
ensuring that no underage patrons are served alcohol from the bar, and
removal of all alcohol to a secured location at the time the bar closes, which is 30 minutes before your event ends.
You are responsible for:
providing the alcoholic beverages
providing glassware (if you do not want disposable)
providing bar set up if the venue doesn’t have one
Please note that outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed on premises per state law. Guests that violate those terms will be asked to leave the premises immediately. Because we serve responsibly, we will not serve liquor without a mixer via shot glasses or “on the rocks”. Bittersweet Bar Service, LLC will not be held liable for minors who consume alcohol during the event given by another adult.
Alcohol will be served in accordance with the State of Maine’s liquor laws and regulations. The bartender will not serve alcohol to minors (anyone under the legal age of 21 years). The bartender will require proof of age (I.D.) for all guests of questionable age partaking in alcoholic beverages. The bartender reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. The bartender will also use their discretion to cease serving patrons who are visibly intoxicated, behaving inappropriately, or who may pose a risk to themselves or others.
